Kite flying fete promotes tourism The Sixth Changachet Competition or kite-flying contest was held at Kakani on Tuesday. In a bid to promote tourism, the Changachet Competition is held at Kakani on the day of Ghatasthapana, the first day of the 10-day Bada Dashain festival, every year. Fifty-six contestants have participated in this year’s Changachet Contest organized by the National Geographic Society. Deepesh Maharjan of Ranibari, Kathmandu stood first, Rupesh Bhusal of Baneshwar, Kathmandu second and Pradip Shrestha of Gongabu, Kathmandu third in the kite flying contests. Senior cardiologist Dr Bhagawan Koirala had inaugurated the competition.
